See you soon, Dad!

Ozzy and his dad's last picture together before he departed for work to Norway.

Although it was a sad day for all of us, I can't help but smile thinking how hard working my husband is and how much he is willing to sacrifice for me and especially for his son.

Being an OFW is not a joke you know. They are dubbed as our countries new heroes. I heard in the news that some welders in Poland were treated badly and since they were not member of the OWWA, they had difficulty looking for some organization to help.

So what is OWWA?

"
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), is the lead government agency tasked to protect and promote the welfare and well-being of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents."

What are OWWA's Benefits and Services offered?

a. Life/Accident Insurance

A member is covered with life insurance for the duration of his employment contract. The coverage includes P100,000.00 for natural death and P200,000.00 for accidental death.

b. Disability and Dismemberment Benefits

A member shall be entitled to disability/dismemberment benefits ranging from P2,000.00 to P50,000.00.

c. Total Disability Benefit

In case of total permanent disability, a member shall be entitled to P100,000.00

d. Burial Benefit

A burial benefit of P20,000.00 shall be provided in case of the member's death.

Learn more about OWWA here.

Anyway, hubby is not yet a member but were looking to be a member soon. It's better to be safe when you're out of your own country.

Right?

yes, he should register with OWWA. they ever offer scholarship to the OFW and his/her beneficiaries, rght? my was one of the recipients of said scholarship, he took up a short-term course in MERALCO Found. back in 2003.

i know how u feel. but as you mentioned, we sometimes need to sacrifice in order give our children bright future.

God Bless!

van, he should have register before sya umalis. kasi ung sa owwa, they have an id na pwede ka na magbukas ng savings account for php 100. although now i am not sure if nakatie up pa sila sa bdo. dati si hubby kasi sa epcib pa eh.

tapos you should also register dun sa pagibig overseas program. if ever you wanted to buy a house or a lot or both. mas mabilis processing dun and the interest of the savings through your contribution is around 4 to 7% much higher than sa bangko. although you have to wait for the 5 years maturity before you can withdraw. pati philhealth meron for ofw eh. mas malaki daw makukuha as compared sa local philhealth.

as for ozzy's side para lagi sya reminded of his daddy's face dapat may picture ka of him. kasi ako nun from the time na umalis si joseph, i have 10 8r on the walls of our room. lol. and everyday, lagi ko pinapoint kay anevay 'that is daddy'. so ngaun every morning, anevay would look at the pic and say hi daddy. lol. o kaya kakanta sya ng daddy daddy daddy daddy daddy na nakatune dun sa jollibee song. haha. ay napahaba.

mahirap but its for the future.
