Joshua Xander a.k.a Ozzy @ 27 months
On Motor Skills
He loves to jump around, he is not afraid even in high places. (It is I whose afraid!)
He loves to dance and follow dance steps (Barney and Wowowee) - he's good at it too. He can climb, slide down, go up the stairs and run without any problem. He can also turns pages in a book one at a time, he can stack his lego blocks to build a tower, he can put his shoes on by himself, he can easily unzip his clothes and he can even take off his clothes and diaper on his own. He can also easily match similar objects.
On Social Skills
Ever since he has joined the Gymboree classes he has been more open and friendly to new people. He would readily greet and say 'hi'. Although we had a slight problem about hitting other children back then; we've dealt with it and Ozzy has learned that if he wants to get other children's attention he should just come over and say hi and not hit.
I've been worried that Ozzy would turn out to be anti-social because in his playgroup he doesn't seem to make friends like the other kids. He is happy playing on his own. But I have read that two year olds are very self-oriented, and playing together at this age only means playing in parallel, side by side. Reciprocal play, involving true interactions, usually isn't seen before three years. That would explain why bigger kids in his class play together while he on the other hand prefer to play alone.
That's it. More updates about Ozzy and about our trip to the Underwater World in a bit. Right now, I have to canvass for affordable promotional products for our company.
xoxo
