I still can't believe my baby brother is graduating from college in March 2009. Seems like yesterday when we were still playing hide and seek in the garden, now he's joining us in the "real world".
My brother is the baby in the family (before my son came of course). Naturally we did things for me thus making him a bit dependent on us. He would not make decisions by himself because he would wait for us to do it for him. I am glad though that college changed that. I would see him studying even taking time to go the extra mile to become the #1 Corp in their batch.
Since my sister is paying for his tuition and stuff he finds a way to get hold of second hand or cheap college text books to be able to save on the cost. I remember when I was in college I would befriend higher level students to be able to buy the books that they no longer need. I was always shocked to hear the prices of our text books ranging from 500-1500 pesos and it was the year 2000, how much more now!?
Good thing there are lots of options now. Some even photocopy a whole book just to save! That doesn't sound right though, even I have my "cheap" limits.
