Last Saturday was Ozzy's first session at the Gym for Level 6 class. This class is for toddler’s age 28months-36months. I am proud to say that Ozzy has improved especially in his attention span and listening skills. They were playing "dinosaur" games which encouraged him and the other kids to use their imagination to develop ideas and make logical connection between ideas. During the time when the teacher was reading to them a book, Ozzy listened intently. Although he does not participate much I can see he was really listening. They were talking about different dinosaurs, some big, some small, fat, thin, loud and quiet ones.
Also, in the activity which involved exploring the makeshift “pterodactyl” the kids were actually promoting symbolic thinking skills as they pretended to feed and climb the flying dinosaur. Also, stomping and climbing the stegosaurus gave the children many opportunities to hone their physical skills, like jumping, climbing, improve their muscle strength and bilateral coordination. Sharing the set-up and waiting for their turn improved their social skill. This was Oz's fave. Jumping the tall make-shift dinosaur? Piece of cake for him.
All in all I would say it was a good session for Ozzy. He was very very participative and he shared. Bought him a cute backpack, he loves it. He would carry it around everywhere. Which reminds me of getting a hand carry luggage for myself. We'll be having lots of trips this December and I can't afford to keep bringing my moms huge one.
Anyway, can't wait for next week's Gym class.xoxo
