I am not a very outdoorsy person by nature. When I was younger, I enjoyed the adventure. I enjoyed the sun! However as I got older, I found out the sun ruins our skin and lighter skin is much better than dark, so I stayed away from the sun and then frequented the mall instead. My Outdoor Gear was replaced by indoor "malling" gear consists of sexy sandals and cute dresses. I am after all, a City Girl by heart. The last time I tried a little adventure was way back in the 90's. I was in high school then and I agreed to the wretched "mountain hiking" was because my crush was there.
However, when I think about it, it was actually fun. I need the exercise after all! My cousin who is the outdoorsy type came here last year with some of her friends and they went mountain climbing and rock climbing in the south. I asked if it was safe, she said yes as long as they use reliable gear like North Face gear.
I've been looking around for nice warm jackets for Hubby and stuff from Marmot looks impressive. Hubby went on a skiing weekend a few weeks ago and I am pretty sure he had minimal gear. Good thing he was able to borrow from his friends. He says he loved skiing and that he is good at it so I think its best to invest in good reliable gear. Better check it out some more.
