Summertime is here! You can actually feel the student's excitement for their impending "independence". No more quizzes, no more early wake up calls and term papers to pass. My brother is graduating college and is going to attend his grad ball later tonight. I can still remember my very own graduation and ball. It was one of the best times of my life.
So with freedom comes great responsibility.
Most of the fresh graduates can't wait to start working to be able to "pursue their dreams" and goals. However for some, it is wise to just relax a bit, take time to relax and unwind first before entering the professional life.
So if you're one of those who choose to bum around first, there are a gazillion things to do beside 'Facebooking' and taking care of that pet in Pet Society. Like what you ask?
1. Start organizing your room, clean up and sort out unnecessary books, notebooks and clothes. There are some to be given away, some to be kept, some can be sold in a local garage sale for that extra cash and some well...should be better off thrown than gathering dust in your room. After all you are staring a new life so what better way to start it by starting fresh.
2. Immerse yourself in something new, take up a new hobby - like cooking or some DIY activities that you've been putting off since forever. If you haven't had your driving lessons yet; now is the best time. Some employers require their employees to know how to drive so you'll have the upper hand.
3. Go out, get some fresh air, maybe a nice walk, jog, visit the gym or if you're more adventurous try camping or even rock or mountain climbing. These activities do good to exercise your mind & body. This is a great way to meet new people while getting exercise too. There are many trendy and affordable Climbing Gear out there to chose from anyway so that won't be a problem. Besides with the money you make in your local garage sale (see#1) you can easily afford new gear from Arcteryx or even North Face .
4. Lastly, reconnect with your family - go out and spend more time with them because when you start working, chances are there will be less and less time for you to spend with the family especially if your busy climbing the corporate ladder.
